45-1 Pinelawn Memorial Day Celebration

Festivities will begin at 9:45 am and I would love for your organization to kick us off with an honor ride into the park. This will be followed by a welcome speech from our cemetery president, Christine Toson. We will then have our pastor, Mike Poelzer from Spring Creek Church say an opening prayer. Once that is finished, I would like someone from your organization to raise our flag. This will be followed by the pledge of allegiance, a military honor guard, taps a few patriotic songs. Our guest speaker this year is Matt McDonell from Next 18. Next 18 is non-profit that works with veterans’ mental health using the game of golf. Once Matt is done speaking, Pinelawn will read the names of the veterans that have been laid to rest in the past year and then I would like someone from your organization place the wreath on our veterans’ island. Pinelawn will then read the names and bios of the new Avenue of Flags recipients (these are new veteran flag placements within our park), Mike will then close with a benediction and your organization will close us out by a final honor ride out of the park. The entire ceremony should last about an hour or so.
